In 2013, the event will be held at the Pioneer Centre, Cleobury Mortimer, Shropshire, DY14 8JG
Friday 15th – Sunday 17th November 2013
Any young person aged 8-23 who would like to. All tickets are allocated on a first-come-first-served basis. All bookings must be made before 31st October 2013.
3Generate is a place for young people to listen to each other and to God, and to talk about the issues that really matter to them. It provides time and space for young people to worship together and have fun together. The outcomes from 3Generate are passed to Methodist Conference (the governance body of the Methodist Church) by young people elected at 3Genereate.
The Youth President elections are held at 3Generate, along with any other positions that are open to young people – for example, positions on Methodist Council, Methodist Conference or the British Youth Council.
Workers/leaders/parents can drop them off at the event, where refreshment will be provided. The young people will then be looked after by members of the Children and Youth Team. Workers/leaders/parents will need to collect their young people at the end of the event on Sunday afternoon.
There is a separate event for workers/leaders running alongside 3Generate, called Generate+ which will include training and reflection to help you take the essence of 3Generate home to impact your work in your local setting. The venue for this is nearby to the venue for 3Generate
Yes, 3Generate is also a perfect place to enable young people to make friends and meet other like-minded people. It is quite usual for young people to attend alone.
By visiting the website at www.3Generate.org.uk
The weekend costs £90, and that includes all your meals, accommodation, activities, and insurance.
Each District should pay for two places at 3Generate but are encouraged to send more young people. Payment for other young people might come from other sources but is the responsibility of the young person/youth leader/parent/person making the booking.
The Methodist Children and Youth team do not arrange travel to 3Generate. This is the responsibility of the person attending. Some Districts arrange travel collectively for all young people going from their District. Free transport will be arranged from both Kidderminster and Ludlow Stations from 6pm till 10pm.
At the station, people will be available to meet young people from these key trains and to escort them safely to the centre. All young people booked to attend will receive information about the free transport service from the station after the final booking deadline (31st October) has passed.
The Methodist Children and Youth team do not included travel or insurance of this travel to and from 3Generate. Young people are encouraged to seek funding from local churches, circuits and districts. This could be done by having a coffee morning or some other fundraising event.
3Generate: Children and Youth Assembly is fully insured. However, this does not include travel insurance for young people going to and from the event.
